Randall Stofft designed this Contemporary and Mid-Century influenced residence on Lake Ida in Delray Beach, drawing on the design philosophy of Frank Lloyd Wright with natural stone, warm woods, and neutral tones across 6,828 total square feet. The property sits on nearly one acre with approximately 110 feet of direct lake frontage, fully remodeled throughout with a new floating staircase, complete kitchen rebuild, and renovated pool and spa.

Architecture & Design by Randall Stofft
Stofft's design prioritizes light and airflow, with soaring ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows oriented toward the lake. The entry was reimagined around a floating staircase with glass panels, real wood treads, and black steel detailing. The material palette carries the Wright influence: natural stone, warm wood tones, and a restrained neutral color story that ties indoor spaces to the waterfront setting.
Kitchen & Interior
The kitchen was completely transformed with custom dark cabinetry, a blackened steel hood, and new stone countertops and slab applications. Appliances include a Sub-Zero refrigerator, Wolf stacked double ovens and cooktop, Fisher and Paykel dishwasher drawers (four dishwashers total across the home), and a built-in Miele coffee system. The layout follows a split-bedroom plan for privacy, with the first-floor primary suite offering floor-to-ceiling lake views, two custom-fitted closets, and a spa-caliber bathroom with a custom dual vanity, under-cabinet lighting, suspended mirrors, and a porcelain-slab shower with Kohler body sprays, handhelds, and rain shower heads, plus a towel warmer.
The second floor houses a loft and morning bar that open to a large lake-view balcony, flanked by two ensuite guest bedrooms. A separate guest apartment includes a bedroom, an office or second bedroom, and access to a private sun deck, suitable for extended family, staff, or visiting guests. Every bathroom in the residence was fully renovated with new tile, vanities, mirrors, Kohler fixtures, lighting, and Toto toilets.
Outdoor Living & Grounds
The exterior was overhauled alongside the interiors. The pool and spa were fully renovated into a heated saltwater system with two heaters, surrounded by updated hardscape and a loggia fitted with retractable screens. The nearly one-acre lot provides substantial setback from neighbors while maintaining direct lake access and views. A wine cellar, whole-house water filtration system, full-house generator (installed 2021), and a new roof (installed 2020) round out the infrastructure.
Location & Access
Lake Ida is one of the larger freshwater lakes in central Delray Beach, and direct frontage parcels of this size rarely trade. The Colnon subdivision sits within a short drive of Atlantic Avenue's dining and retail corridor. Palm Beach International Airport is approximately 25 minutes north. For boating principals, the Atlantic Ocean inlet at Boynton Beach is roughly four miles east, though Lake Ida itself is a freshwater, non-navigable-to-ocean body best suited for kayaking, paddleboarding, and small watercraft.
