About Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club

Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club is where Boca Raton’s deep water money lives. Arthur Vining Davis, the Alcoa chairman who built Arvida, founded it in 1959 as a club within a community. The formula has not needed changing: about 700 estates on roughly 450 acres, wrapped by the Intracoastal, the Boca Raton Inlet and a Jack Nicklaus Signature course.

The water is the point. Deep water lots carry private dockage with no fixed bridge to the inlet. The club marina holds more than 60 slips for yachts to 130 feet, and the open Atlantic sits minutes away. Few American communities pair that with Nicklaus golf inside one gate.

How It TradesDeep water lots set the ceiling, new construction drives the market

Davis planned Royal Palm as the flagship of the Arvida Corporation, and it opened with pedigree: Robert Trent Jones Sr. laid out the course, which opened in 1960 with Sam Snead as the first professional. Jack Nicklaus redesigned it in 2003 and again in 2014, and it now plays as a Signature course of more than 7,000 yards.

The community sits a block from the Boca Raton resort district, which is exactly where Davis wanted it. Sixty five years on, Royal Palm remains the yardstick for the rest of Boca.

Royal Palm's waterfront lots line the Intracoastal and the canals feeding the Boca Raton Inlet, and they reach the ocean without a fixed bridge. For serious boat owners that single fact separates Royal Palm from nearly every gated community in the county.

The club's marina adds more than 60 slips for yachts up to 130 feet, and the club belongs to the Yachting Club of America. Owners keep the tender at the house and the yacht at the basin.

The original ranch estates of the 1960s have largely given way to new construction, and Royal Palm now carries one of South Florida's most active teardown and rebuild markets. Contemporary estates of 8,000 to more than 15,000 square feet rise on the deep water lots, and the golf course rows follow behind them.

Position drives everything. Deep water with southern exposure commands the top of the market, and an April 2024 sale reached $40M, with two sales in mid 2026 clearing $20M.

Frequently Asked Questions

Deep water new construction sets the ceiling and golf course homes open the market. Closings from 2024 through mid 2026 carried a median of $8.9M, an April 2024 sale reached $40M, and two mid 2026 sales cleared $20M. No. The Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club is a separate institution from the community association, membership is optional for residents, and admission runs by invitation with nomination by existing members. Terms come from the club directly.

Yes, in two ways. Deep water lots carry private dockage with no fixed bridge to the Boca Raton Inlet, and the club marina holds more than 60 slips for yachts up to 130 feet. This is the deepest private dockage market in Boca Raton.

Robert Trent Jones Sr. laid out the original course, which opened in 1960 with Sam Snead as the club’s first professional. Jack Nicklaus redesigned it in 2003 and again in 2014, and it now plays as a Nicklaus Signature course of more than 7,000 yards.

About 700 estates, split between deep water lots on the Intracoastal and canals and interior lots along the golf course. Original 1960s homes are steadily being replaced by contemporary new construction, and the rebuild market here is among the most active in South Florida.

In East Boca Raton, directly south of the Boca Raton resort district, wrapped by the Intracoastal and the Boca Raton Inlet. The beach, the resort and downtown Boca sit minutes outside the gate.

They anchor opposite ends of Boca. Royal Palm is East Boca, deep water and yachting with Nicklaus golf, club optional. St Andrews is West Boca’s premier equity golf community, with two courses and mandatory membership. Boat owners choose Royal Palm, dedicated golfers often choose St Andrews.

Steadily, for a community of this caliber, because the rebuild cycle keeps inventory moving. Closings from 2024 through mid 2026 numbered 33 on the MLS, and teardown buyers compete for the deep water lots whenever one surfaces.
