Polo in Wellington
The season's daytime counterweight plays out twenty minutes west. The National Polo Center in Wellington opens its winter on December 27, 2026 and runs Sunday match play through May 2. The C.V. Whitney Cup, the USPA Gold Cup and the U.S. Open Polo Championship run in sequence from late January through mid-April.
Sunday at the polo grounds is the island's standing counterprogram to the ballroom. The U.S. Open Women's Polo Championship final falls on February 14, and the FIP Women's World Polo Championship closes the season in its first United States edition.
