The Complete Guide to Palm Beach’s Social Season (2026-2027)

Nikko Karki
Nikko Karki August 15, 2026
Everything you need to know about the 2026 to 2027 Palm Beach season, October through April. The galas, the cultural institutions, the polo winter in Wellington and the private clubs that shape it all.

Palm Beach operates on two calendars. The first is the one everyone else uses. The second runs from October through April and determines everything that matters on the island. The population triples, the cultural institutions present their most serious work, sixty-plus galas fill The Breakers and Mar-a-Lago, and the private clubs host the evenings that count. Locals call it the season.

Social Calendar · 2026-27

The Evenings That Define the Season

Not every event on the Palm Beach calendar carries the same weight. These are the nine that do: the galas, openings, and occasions that serious residents plan the winter around. The full calendar follows below.

December 10
Peggy Adams Christmas Ball
Sailfish Club
55th Year
December 31
Midnight at Whitehall
The Flagler Museum
New Year's Eve
February 11 to 16
The Palm Beach Show
Convention Center
Art Fair
February 26
Preservation Foundation Dinner Dance
Phipps Ocean Park
Under the Stars
March 17 to 21
Palm Beach International Boat Show
Flagler Drive
5-Day Show

The arc between those nine is the season itself. October and November belong to the previews and the first receptions. December accelerates through the holiday balls and the start of polo in Wellington to Whitehall's midnight. By January the calendar is formal. February is the peak, dense and demanding and worth every evening of it. By the Boat Show in mid-March the urgency lifts, and the island eases toward summer.

Insider Note

Most coverage of the season treats it as a list of parties. This guide reads it as a structure: the anchor evenings first, then the full calendar, then polo, the institutions and the clubs that hold it all together. Organizations publish their dates in waves through the fall, and the calendar below is refreshed as they land, so a missing evening is pending rather than passed over.

The 2026 to 2027 Season Calendar

Every date below has been announced by its host organization or published in the save-the-date record. Highlighted rows are the anchor evenings from the list above. Organizations confirm details, tables, and pricing directly through the sites in the final column.

Insider Note

February is when the calendar becomes genuinely demanding. Two dinner dances share February 28 alone, and the Old Bags Luncheon, the Heart Ball and the Cleveland Clinic Ball land within four days of one another. Prioritize early: the evenings that matter most to you personally, and the causes closest to you.

Insider Note

The final two weeks of March offer some of the best the island has to give. The pace eases after the Boat Show, reservations open up, and the weather is at its most comfortable. The amfAR spring gala has landed in this stretch in past seasons and is still to be dated. If there is a window worth protecting in the Palm Beach calendar, this is it.

Polo in Wellington

The season's daytime counterweight plays out twenty minutes west. The National Polo Center in Wellington opens its winter on December 27, 2026 and runs Sunday match play through May 2. The C.V. Whitney Cup, the USPA Gold Cup and the U.S. Open Polo Championship run in sequence from late January through mid-April.

Sunday at the polo grounds is the island's standing counterprogram to the ballroom. The U.S. Open Women's Polo Championship final falls on February 14, and the FIP Women's World Polo Championship closes the season in its first United States edition. Every dated final appears in the month tables above.

Winter Season, December Through May
National Polo Center

The United States Polo Association's national home fields host the sport's highest-goal winter season in the country. Sunday finals run from the December opener through the spring championships, and the international calendar follows in late April. The full schedule and ticketing are published on the center's site.

nationalpolocenter.com

The Institutions

The cultural institutions give the season its depth. The galas photograph better, but the exhibitions and performances fill the weeks between them. Attending the right ones is as much a part of living the season well as any ballroom. Most announce their winter programming in the early fall.

Founded 1936
The Society of the Four Arts

Ten acres on the Intracoastal: galleries, a performance hall, the King Library, and the Philip Hulitar Sculpture Garden. The winter lecture series is the island's intellectual common ground. It draws heads of state and historians to a room that seats a few hundred, and the season's roster lands in the fall announcements.

fourarts.org
Transformed by Foster + Partners
Norton Museum of Art

The county's premier art museum, reimagined into limestone galleries, interior gardens, and a 37,000 square foot sculpture garden. The Norton's winter exhibition and its gala are fixtures of the February calendar, with this season's dates pending announcement.

norton.org
First Full Season
Glazer Hall

The island's first new nonprofit performing arts venue in more than sixty years enters its first complete season. The restored Royal Poinciana Playhouse, a John L. Volk building from 1958, holds four hundred seats behind a glass back wall onto the Intracoastal, and its inaugural spring set the bar with American Ballet Theatre and Renee Fleming.

glazerhall.org
25th Anniversary Season
Palm Beach Symphony

The Symphony marks its twenty-fifth anniversary this winter. The milestone shapes its calendar: a gala kickoff at Findlay Galleries on January 7 and A Standing Ovation at The Breakers on February 15. Masterworks performances run at the Kravis Center through the season.

palmbeachsymphony.org
65th Anniversary
Palm Beach Opera

The Opera Guild celebrates its sixty-fifth anniversary with a gala at the Four Seasons on January 18. The company's mainstage productions at the Kravis Center remain one of the winter's serious cultural tickets.

pbopera.org
Regional Performing Arts Center
Kravis Center for the Performing Arts

The region's major performing arts venue and the connective tissue of the cultural calendar. It is home to the Symphony's Masterworks, the Opera's mainstage and a steady run of benefit evenings through the winter.

kravis.org
Henry Flagler's Whitehall
The Flagler Museum

Whitehall is both museum and stage. This season it hosts the Twelve Trees of Christmas luncheon, Midnight at Whitehall on New Year's Eve and the Place of Hope dinner in January. That run makes Henry Flagler's house the busiest historic venue on the island.

flaglermuseum.us
Architectural Heritage
Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach

The foundation protects the island's physical identity, from the Mizner courtyards to the Volk streetscapes. Its Annual Dinner Dance on February 26 gathers the town at Phipps Ocean Park, whose restoration the foundation itself led.

palmbeachpreservation.org

Art Fairs and Design Events

The cultural calendar brackets the season: the art circuit opens an hour south in December, fills the convention center from January into February, and closes on the waterfront in March.

December 2 to 6, 2026
Art Basel Miami Beach

The hemisphere's defining contemporary art fair, with preview days on December 2 and 3. Half the island makes the drive, and the week sets the winter's cultural tone before the season proper has begun.

artbasel.com
January 27 to 31, 2027
Art Palm Beach

The county's principal modern and contemporary fair returns for five days at the convention center in late January.

artpalmbeachshow.com
February 11 to 16, 2027
The Palm Beach Show

Jewelry, art, antiques and design at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. The season's largest showcase of its kind overlaps the Palm Beach Fine Craft Show on the same floor February 12 to 14.

palmbeachshow.com
Tenth Palm Beach Edition
Kips Bay Decorator Show House

The design world's annual pilgrimage: a single house reimagined room by room by the country's leading designers, drawing some fifteen thousand visitors. The tenth Palm Beach edition returns in February 2027, with exact dates pending announcement.

kipsbaydecoratorshowhouse.org
Presented by Art Miami
Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary

The March fair on the convention center floor. The 2027 edition's dates are pending announcement, and it joins the calendar when they publish.

artpbfair.com
March 17 to 21, 2027
Palm Beach International Boat Show

The season's traditional finale at scale, five days along the West Palm Beach waterfront, and the unofficial close of the island's winter.

The Private Clubs

Private clubs are central to Palm Beach social life, and they operate on their own logic: membership is by invitation, the process is gradual, and it is designed that way. Several of the season's best evenings happen inside them.

Founded 1919
The Everglades Club

The island's most exclusive club, in a historic Addison Mizner building at the head of Worth Avenue. Membership is by invitation only, and the club does not maintain a public website, which tells you most of what you need to know.

Oceanfront, South End
Bath and Tennis Club

Oceanfront on the island's south end, and second only to the Everglades in the island's club hierarchy. Membership is by invitation and requires sponsorship.

bathandtennis.com
North End, on the Lagoon
Sailfish Club

The north end's club on the Lake Worth Lagoon hosts two calendar fixtures this season: the Peggy Adams Christmas Ball on December 10, in its fifty-fifth year, and the St. Ann Place dinner dance on February 27.

sailfishclub.com
North County Road
Beach Club

The understated anchor of the charity calendar. This season it hosts the Food for Thought dinner, the Angels in White luncheon, the Dana-Farber breakfast and the Fellowship of Christians and Jews dinner.

Peruvian Avenue
Club Colette

The dinner club that remains the season's most intimate gala room. Seven evenings on the announced calendar happen there, from the Symphony's November kickoff through the Center for Creative Education dinner in March.

clubcolette.com
North End
Palm Beach Country Club

Golf, tennis, dining and social programming on the island's north end, with a charitable tradition that runs deep in the membership.

palmbeachcountryclub.com
Insider Note

Club membership in Palm Beach works differently than in most places. There is no application to submit. Membership comes through proposal by existing members, a review and an invitation from the committee, typically a year or more. For those newer to the island, the reliable approach is to build genuine relationships within the community and let membership follow naturally, which it does.

Key Venues

The season happens in perhaps a dozen rooms, and knowing them is half of knowing the calendar.

Oceanfront
The Breakers

The stage on which the season's most formal evenings are composed, and the announced calendar's busiest address by a wide margin. This winter it holds the Red Cross Ball, the Heart Ball, the Cleveland Clinic Ball and a dozen more evenings. The Mediterranean Revival architecture is part of the occasion.

thebreakers.com
Marjorie Merriweather Post's Estate
Mar-a-Lago

Built in 1927 and operated today as a private club, Mar-a-Lago hosts a run of the season's major benefits. This year that includes the Old Bags Luncheon, the Valentine fashion show and the Dance the Night Away gala in March.

maralagoclub.com
South End Resort
Four Seasons Palm Beach

The island's south-end resort hosts the Opera Guild's sixty-fifth anniversary gala in January and a steady calendar of smaller benefit dinners through the winter.

fourseasons.com/palmbeach
Worth Avenue
The Colony

The pink hotel off Worth Avenue is the room for the season's more intimate evenings, the Civic Association's holiday reception and the Historical Society's Archival Evening among them.

thecolonypalmbeach.com
The Season's Newest Stage
Phipps Ocean Park

The Preservation Foundation's February dinner dance gathers the town on the oceanfront park the foundation restored, the one marquee evening of the winter held in open air.

Mizner's Masterwork
Worth Avenue

Events, exhibitions, and the historical walking tour run through the season, and the architecture reveals itself one arched passageway at a time.

worth-avenue.com

The Season Ahead

The rest of the calendar fills in through the fall, and this page will keep up as it does. If you are planning the winter, book the anchors first. The Breakers' February tables go earliest, and the best committees form before Thanksgiving. Leave a few evenings open for the invitations you did not see coming, which every good season produces. For readers weighing a move to the island along with a season, our island buyer's briefing covers the other calendar.

Disclaimer

All dates reflect the 2026-27 season as announced and are subject to change. Confirm details on official event pages before attending.

This guide compiles the announced dates of the 2026 to 2027 Palm Beach season. It counts evenings confirmed by host organizations or published in the Palm Beach Daily News save-the-date record. It adds the season's major fairs and shows and the National Polo Center's published schedule. The calendar reflects announcements current at publication and is refreshed as organizations publish through the season, so an evening's absence means its date is pending. Dates, venues, and formats are set by the host organizations and can change. Confirm directly before planning.

Frequently Asked Questions
The season is Palm Beach's winter calendar of charity galas, cultural openings, club evenings and fairs. It runs from the October previews through the spring finale. It is when the island's population swells, the institutions stage their most ambitious work, and the benefit evenings fill The Breakers week after week. The 2026 to 2027 edition holds more than sixty dated events and counting.
In practice, with the October charity evenings: Habitat for Humanity's fortieth anniversary Dream Builders' Ball on October 9, 2026 is the first ballroom night on the announced calendar. The calendar builds through the December holiday balls, runs at full intensity from January through March, and eases through the polo finals in April.
February holds the anchors: Hospice Evening, the 72nd Heart Ball, the Cleveland Clinic Ball and the Preservation Foundation dinner dance, dated in the calendar below. The Peggy Adams Christmas Ball on December 10 and the Flagler Museum's Midnight at Whitehall on New Year's Eve open the run. The 66th International Red Cross Ball opens the year on January 8 at The Breakers.
The Breakers hosts more of the season's marquee evenings than any other address. Mar-a-Lago and the Flagler Museum carry much of the rest, alongside the Four Seasons and The Colony and the club rooms at Sailfish, Colette and the Beach Club. The Preservation Foundation's February dinner dance at Phipps Ocean Park is the one marquee evening held in open air.
Most of the season's evenings are charity benefits, with tickets and tables open to supporters through the host organizations. Buying a table is the traditional first step into the season. Committee participation the following year is the established route from attending to belonging. Only the private club evenings require membership or a member's invitation.
Individual tickets generally run from several hundred dollars for the luncheons to several thousand for the marquee balls. Tables typically start in the low five figures and rise with prominence and placement. Each organization publishes its own ticket and sponsorship levels on the sites linked in the calendar above.
The marquee evening galas are black tie, and invitations say so plainly. Luncheons and fashion shows call for polished daytime dress, the fairs and the Boat Show are smart casual, and club evenings follow each club's standards. When an invitation is silent, the island errs formal.
By invitation rather than application. Membership comes through proposal by existing members, a review, and an invitation extended by the committee, typically on a timeline of a year or more. For those newer to the island, the reliable approach is to build genuine relationships within the community and let membership follow.
Before the season starts. The best seasonal rentals and the most desirable listings are spoken for by late fall, and demand peaks from January through March. Everything on the island is easier to arrange in August than in February. Buyers timing a purchase around the season should be in the market by early autumn.
The 2026-27 season at the National Polo Center opens December 27, 2026, with matches on Sunday afternoons through May 2. The C.V. Whitney Cup, the USPA Gold Cup and the U.S. Open Polo Championship follow in sequence, with the U.S. Open final weekend closing in mid-April. The FIP Women's World Polo Championship follows in late April, the event's first United States edition.
Glazer Hall is the island's first new nonprofit performing arts venue in more than sixty years, inside the restored Royal Poinciana Playhouse, a 1958 John L. Volk building. The hall seats four hundred behind a glass back wall onto the Intracoastal. It enters its first complete season this winter, after an inaugural spring that included American Ballet Theatre and Renee Fleming.
March 17 through 21, 2027, along Flagler Drive on the West Palm Beach waterfront, the season's traditional closing weekend at scale. Art Basel Miami Beach opens the winter's cultural calendar December 2 through 6, 2026, and the Palm Beach Show runs February 11 through 16, 2027.
