The Building
Winthrop House anchors the town’s most famous intersection from the north corner, 100 Worth Avenue at South Ocean Boulevard, one address across from Kirkland House at 101. Mike Burrows designed the eight story building in 1970, and it has traded ever since on a combination nothing else at this entry point offers: the avenue out the lobby and a private tunnel under the boulevard to the sand.
Residences run two to three bedrooms from roughly 1,500 to 3,500 square feet, with a heated pool, rooftop sundeck, fitness center, club room and two garage spaces, behind a full time manager and 24 hour security. A July 2026 sale closed at $3.675M.

Addresses do the talking in this town, and 100 Worth Avenue says everything in three characters. The building stands where the avenue's shops, galleries and restaurants end at the ocean, sharing the corner with Kirkland House across the street. Owners live on the town's main stage with the beach as the backyard.
The private tunnel is the detail visitors remember: from the elevator to the sand without crossing a road, a convenience the town approved in another era and would never permit again.
With 122 residences from roughly 1,500 square feet, Winthrop House opens the Worth Avenue corner to buyers the boutique buildings cannot fit. Renovated lines with ocean views over the boulevard carry the building's top, and a July 2026 sale closed at $3.675M.
The scale also means steadier inventory than the twenty unit buildings nearby, which makes Winthrop House the practical first look for avenue buyers.

Yes. A private tunnel runs from the building under South Ocean Boulevard directly to the sand, an original 1970 feature the town would never approve today. It remains the building’s signature.
