The Four Categories
The PGA National Members Club listed four membership categories on its published pages as of October 2, 2026. Golf carries access to every course on the property and the full club calendar. Sports is built around tennis, croquet and fitness, with limited golf access for occasional players. Resort Social covers the clubhouse, the resort pool and the dining outlets. Junior Executive is the golf category for members under forty. Each category is open to families and to individuals.
Two structural facts matter more than any category name. First, the club is non-equity, so joining buys access rather than a stake, and nothing is bought back when a member leaves. Second, membership is open to residents and to non-residents alike. A member can live in Jupiter and play here every week, and an owner on Thornton Drive, a street inside the gates, can decline the club entirely. Our membership economics guide treats that decoupling as the defining feature of the resort-community model.

One Application, No Committee
Joining runs through the membership office at the resort, and the word for the process is administrative. There is no sponsor letter to collect, no interview season and no board vote to schedule around. An applicant chooses a category, completes the paperwork and receives current terms from the office. Our club timing guide found the same pattern across the corridor's optional clubs. The process is simpler and faster than at the equity clubs. It typically completes within the inspection period of a home purchase.
That timing detail is worth a pause. At the mandatory clubs nearby, the membership decision and the home decision are one transaction, and the club's calendar can set the closing date. Here the two decisions run on separate tracks. A buyer can close on the home first and join in March, or join years before owning, or never join at all. The sequencing is the buyer's to choose.
What the Record Answers, and What the Club Does
No initiation or dues figure appears anywhere on this page, and the reason is structural rather than coy. The club adjusts its terms category by category, quotes them to applicants directly and owes the public no notice when they change. Any number we published would start aging the same day, and a stale fee figure is worse than none. Fee questions go to the membership office. Everything else about the cost of living here sits in documents anyone can pull, from the deed record to each neighborhood's association budget to the county's property tax arithmetic.
Ownership of the resort itself changed hands in January 2025, when Henderson Park acquired PGA National Resort in a joint venture with Salamander Hotels & Resorts and South Street Partners. No changes to the membership structure, the fee tiers or residential governance have been announced since the sale. A careful applicant still asks the office about capital projects or fee adjustments under the new ownership. That is exactly the kind of answer only the club can give.
The left column is documented in county records, MLS data and association files. The right column is quoted by the membership office and revised at the club's discretion.
What Membership Does to a Purchase
At PGA National, almost nothing. The membership is optional and non-equity, so no club interest rides on the deed, no equity transfers at resale and no membership approval sits between contract and closing. The home is priced as a home. Sellers here are not marketing a club seat alongside the property, and buyers are not underwriting one. Our community page calls this the easiest entry among the area's major golf communities, and the contract mechanics are the reason.
The contrast is a short drive in any direction. At BallenIsles to the east and at Mirasol across PGA Boulevard, membership is mandatory for most purchases. The club economics travel with the house there whether a buyer golfs or not, and mandatory membership narrows the buyer pool, a dynamic our economics study measures across the corridor. The practical reading for a PGA National buyer is simpler. Weigh the home on the market record, weigh the club on the office's current quote, and let neither decision rush the other.
A Club Inside a Resort
The club a member joins here sits inside a working resort, and daily life reflects it. Guests of the 339-room hotel share the courses, the restaurants, the spa and the pools with members and residents. The courses are semi-private as a matter of design, a structure our community character study describes as a resort community with a residential component. The trade is straightforward. Members give up the sealed quiet of a private club and get five courses, a tournament on their home ground and a resort operation funding the amenities.
The club has anchored the social life of Palm Beach Gardens for more than four decades, and the Cognizant Classic brings the PGA Tour through the gates every season. For some buyers that energy is the entire point. For others it argues for a quieter club and a different address, which is a conclusion worth reaching before an offer rather than after it. The community page carries the live market, and the golf communities hub holds the corridor's alternatives.
Bottom Line
Treat PGA National as two files. The club file holds the four categories and the current quote, and it must be refreshed for every applicant because the club rewrites it at will. The record file holds everything else, from recorded sales to association budgets, and it never needs the club's permission to read. Build the record file before you tour, and ask the office for the club file the same week.
For buyers weighing the club decision: Get the current quote in writing from the membership office. Set it beside the home's documented costs, never beside a number from a forum. We read the documents before you sign them. Send us the address.
Membership categories and inclusions restate the PGA National Members Club's published membership pages, read October 2, 2026, and our own PGA National community page. The open residents-and-non-residents structure comes from the same pages. The club controls and revises its own terms and publishes current schedules to applicants on request, so this page carries no initiation or dues figure by policy. Confirm the current category structure and pricing directly with the membership office before underwriting a purchase.
The January 2025 resort ownership change and the absence of announced membership changes restate our community page's coverage of the Henderson Park acquisition. Characterizations of optional versus mandatory club structures are reused from our published golf community studies, which measure twelve communities across the corridor.
